The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Raj Thackeray in connection with Kohinoor mill land purchase deal.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has withdrawn the decision of calling Mumbai and Thane bandh on August 22 following notice to MNS Chief Raj Thackeray. However, it has informed its cadre to come to Mumbai in large numbers for a silent protest.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Raj Thackeray in connection with Kohinoor mill land purchase deal. The ED has already summoned and interrogated Raj Thackeray's original partner in the deal Unmesh Joshi, the son of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Manohar Joshi, and also Rajan Shirodkar on Monday. Senior MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar has reiterated that the Bandh decision has been withdrawn only at the behest of their leader Raj Thackeray. "However, people who love Raj saheb can come out to express their solidarity against the tyranny of government and its agencies," stated Nangaonkar.

Nandgaonkar added that the protest will be peaceful. "In the past, we have manifested the power of our voice now we will show the power of our silence. MNS workers across the state will gather at the ED office. We will ensure no one gets disturbed with our silent protest. We are overwhelmed with the love of the people. We are receiving several phone calls across India expressing their solidarity with Raj Saheb," explained Nandgaonkar. Atul Nemade, the Vice President, MNS, Jalgaon said that they had a meeting with their party workers and decided to follow the appeal of Raj saheb. "We will come to Mumbai in large numbers. We will not succumb to the pressure of the BJP. Everyone knows that the BJP is misusing the government machinery to pressurize us," said Nemade.
