Motorists plying using the Bandra-Worli Sea-Link will have to pay more toll from Sunday with toll rates being increased on the sea-link increasing starting April 1, 2018.
One way toll for cars will be Rs 70 now (Rs 60 earlier) and for the return journey, the toll will be Rs 105 now (Rs 90 earlier) followed by Rs 175 for the daily pass.
The toll for every category of vehicle has increased by around 18 percent wherein revised toll for a single journey of tempo will be Rs 110 and Rs 165 for return. In case of trucks and bus, revised toll rates will be Rs 145 for a single journey and Rs 215 for the return journey.
Further, in case of a monthly pass, cars will have to pay Rs 3,500 monthly up from Rs 3,000 followed by Rs 5,500 for a monthly pass for light commercial vehicle and minibus and Rs 7,250 monthly pass for tucks and bus.
BWSL is country's first sea-link that was made open to the public in 2009 and construction cost for the same is around Rs 2,000 crore. Meanwhile, toll collection will be till the year 2052 for BWSL, as per the government’s decision.
