Bhiwandi emerges as new housing destination

With over 2,300 footfalls on the first day of MCHI property exhibition at Highland Garden Dhokali, developers have already called it a hit. Apart from Ghodbunder Road and Balkum, Bhiwandi has emerged as a destination of choice for potential buyers.

Jitendra Mehta, chairman exhibition, MCHI-CREDAI Thane, said, "The exhibition has started on a positive note and this time more serious buyers have turned up. With 300 plus projects, buyers have a range of options to choose from."

"Ghodbunder Road flats are still selling like hot cakes, but projects at Kalyan Phata are also getting good response," he added.

Smart City tag for Thane city has changed the city's face and many development projects have added to its growth. Maximum rush was seen with exhibitors displaying property at Bhiwandi.

A developer said, "Kalyan Phata is developing fast and other than affordable rates, the place offers good connectivity. People having vehicle can easily commute from Thane within half an hour, as it well-connected."

Abhijeet Ragji, whos is planning to book a 2BHK, said, "Ghodbunder Road flats are touching a crore and more. But when I enquired about flats in Bhiwandi, I realised they are available between Rs2,700 to Rs4,100 per sq feet, which means around Rs40-45 lakh."

Ghodbunder has become an elite choice with the kind of property rates, while Bhiwandi has emerged as a new affordable housing destination.
