Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member in legislative council, Vinod Tawde on Saturday made serious allegations of corruption against the state government in Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) projects. He alleged that a certain builder was given land at Goregaon for Rs150 crore less than the market price. He also said that SRA projects are being cleared from a flat situated opposite chief minister Ashok Chavan’s official bungalow Varsha and demanded clarification from the government. Tawde was speaking on the resolution moved by Congress’ Ashok alias Bhai Jagtap to thank the governor K Shankarnaraynan for his address. “The SRA scheme was launched for the benefit of the poor. But now builders are reaping benefits,” Tawde said.Chavan is expected to reply on Monday.
