BJP workers fast in Mumbai to express support for Narendra Modi

Mumbai BJP president Raj Purohit said that the local BJP supported Modi's fast for 'peace, unity and communal harmony' in Gujarat.

To support the 3-day goodwill (sadbhavna) fast launched by Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP leader Narendra Modi at Ahmedabad, some 30 party workers are on a day-long fast at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai.

Mumbai BJP president Raj Purohit said that the local BJP supported Modi's fast for 'peace, unity and communal harmony' in Gujarat.

BJP leaders including former Union Minister Ram Naik, Jaywantiben Mehta and others were present at Maidan.

Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Eknath Khadse, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Pandurang Phundkar and former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya would be joining in  Modi's fast for a day at Ahmedabad, party had said yesterday.
