BMC Elections 2017: Sharad Pawar votes from ward without NCP candidate

Pawar resides at Bhulabai Desai road where the contest is between Shiv Sena candidate Arvind Bane, BJP's Sarita Doshi and Kaushik Shah from Congress.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar exercised his vote in BMC elections on Tuesday, but in a ward 214 where there was no NCP candidate contesting.

Pawar resides at Bhulabai Desai road where the contest is between Shiv Sena candidate Arvind Bane, BJP's Sarita Doshi and Kaushik Shah from Congress.

The NCP leader said that they had fielded the candidate but he was disqualified.

"However, our leaders instructed us to vote for the secular parties where the NCP does not have a candidate. We all voted for the secular parties only and Pawar saheb must have also voted for the secular party," said Pawar.

Pawar earlier used to vote in his home town Baramati. But during the Mumbai Cricket Association election, he changed his voting address from Baramati to Bhulabai Desai road, Mumbai . He cast his vote along with son-in-law Sadanand Sule.
