A viewing gallery in the ground has also been proposed.

If all goes well, the Western Suburbs will get a playground with the facility of all outdoor games. The garden department of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has prepared a detailed plan to develop Dharmaveer Sambhaji Kridangan in Khotwadi in Santacruz into a sports complex, and the facilities are expected to be available by March 2019.

A viewing gallery in the ground has also been proposed.

Kishore Kshirsagar, deputy municipal commissioner of Garden department said that the proposed playground is in the planning stage. "We have already prepared all amenities in the ground and its structure," said Kshirsagar.

The ground is around 8223 sq metre and as per the 1991 and 2014-34 development plan of the city, the plot is reserved for playground. At present, the ground is under-developed. However, a portion of the plot is being used as playground.

Apart from sports facilities, a jogging track will also be developed. "We have planned an open gym, volleyball court, walking-jogging track, kabbadi court, cricket pitch and viewing gallery," said Kshirsagar.

The tender process will be completed by September and work order will be issued by October. "We are expecting it to be ready by March next year," said Kshirsagar.

In addition, the garden cell department of BMC has already been developing an Olympic standard multi-sports complex in Andheri which is spread across 49,000 sq metre area. The civic body has also claimed that the proposed sports complex will be available for common citizens in Mumbai. At present, there are a number of sports complexes in the city, however, users have to pay to use the facility or needs to be a regular member.
