The new pipeline will boost supply to areas which are not getting water for some time.

Going by assurances given by civic officials, residents of Juhu-Koliwada will get adequate water before Diwali as the Hydraulic Engineering department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will lay a new pipeline to supply water. The new pipeline will boost supply to areas which are not getting water for some time.

DNA has earlier reported about poor supply of water for almost a month in Juhu-Koliwada.

Officials from the Hydraulic Engineering department visited the area on Saturday to take stock of the situation. They faced ire from residents as there was no water despite water being supplied at that time.

Sanjay Arte, deputy hydraulic engineer of Western Suburbs admitted that there is some problem of water supply in the area. "We have decided to lay new pipeline to increase water supply," said Atre. He added that the problem is not new in the area and the solution is only to lay new pipeline.

The new pipeline is a cross connection with main water pipeline to fetch water to areas which are not getting water or getting very little. According to official, Juhu-Koliwada is at the end of the supply network and this one of the reason water reaches there with low pressure.
