Veteran iconic director-producer Yash Chopra breathed his last on Sunday, days after being discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati hospital where he was treated for dengue. The 80-year-old filmmaker was admitted to the Bandra hospital on October 13 after being diagnosed with dengue.
On Saturday, he was put on the ventilator after his condition took a turn for the worse.
The cult filmmaker, who was looking forward to the release of his upcoming Shah Rukh starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan , was the founder of production company Yash Raj Films. In 1973, he was intrumental in launching superstar Amitabh Bachchan as the angry young man in his action thriller Deewar.
