The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) wants to check the past records of Dr Wahid Mirza, who was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for demanding bribes for out-of-turn Yellow Fever Vaccination.

“We will write to the health ministry to give us details of Dr Mirza and the details of passengers who were given YF inoculation by him in the last few years,” said Rishiraj Singh, joint director, CBI.
On Friday, the CBI special court remanded Dr Mirza in judicial custody until September 27.

On September 20, Dr Mirza and his driver, Javed Ansari, were caught by the ACB for demanding Rs3,000 from a passenger, who was a member of Society for Awareness of Civil Rights. He was going to Ghana.

Mirza would target passengers who didn’t want to wait in long queues for their shot. Mirza would wait in his car and Ansari would take the patients to him for inoculation and a signed blank YF certificate.

The YF certificate is required by passengers travelling to African and North American countries.
