Cops probing if Kaskar headed drug racket
The police also suspect that huge quantity of arms and ammunitions were used
Iqbal Kaskar (left, in yellow) was accompanied by a drug dealer when he was picked up on Monday night. The police are now questioning the drug dealer to ascertain if Kaskar was himself into consumption of drugs or was heading a drug syndicate.
On Monday night, the police arrested Kaskar, his two aides — Asrar Ali Jamil Sayed and Mumtaj Ejaz Shaikh in an extortion case. The police had detained three more persons, Iqbal Parkar — brother-in-law of Haseena Parkar, Naver Fernando and Mohammad Khwaja Hussain, a drug dealer, from the house.
“One of the arrested accused told us that Kaskar asked for drugs during interrogation. However, we are verifying his claims,” said a crime branch officer. The police also suspect that huge quantity of arms and ammunitions were used.
