MUMBAI: A young married couple was found dead in their residence in Andheri on Monday, police said.
Shubankar Milan Bhowmik, 23, was found hanging from the ceiling at his residence in Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority colony while wife Amruta, 19, was found on the bed, they said.
"We suspect the husband killed his wife before committing suicide," Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region) Bipin Bihari said. Some "family problems" might have forced him to take the extreme step, he said.
However, police did not find any injury marks on Amruta's body.
Police have found a suicide note in Bengali allegedly written by Shubankar, in which he said nobody, including his wife, should be held responsible for his death.
Police said the newly-wed couple had a love marriage but had no children.
