Cases had been registered against Naidu and 30 MLAs of the Telugu Desam Party under sections 353, 323, 324, 506, 504 and 123 of the Indian Penal Code.

The Maharashtra government packed off N Chandrababu Naidu and his supporters in a chartered plane from Aurangabad to Hyderabad on Tuesday night. But the criminal cases registered against them at the Dharmabad police station are still pending.

Confirming this, HV Aargund, resident district collector (RDC) of Nanded, said that the district administration got a fax massage from the state home ministry on Tuesday, saying that the case registered against Naidu and his supporters for violating the prohibitory orders promulgated at the Babhli dam should be withdrawn. The district administration followed the order, and kept the other criminal cases intact against them.

Inspector Shivshankar Munde of Dharmabad police station told DNA on Thursday that on the morning of July 20, he and his staff went to the ITI premises where Naidu and his supporters were housed. He told Naidu that the district authorities had provided an air-conditioned private bus for him and his supporters to travel from Dharmabad to Harsul Central Jail, Aurangabad. Munde requested them to board the bus, but Naidu said that he won’t go anywhere without visiting the Babhli dam.

“When I repeated my request, Naidu got angry. His supporters also became aggressive, and started hurling abuses in Telugu, Hindi and English. They attacked the policemen present at the spot, injuring seven of them,” Munde said.

He added that cases had been registered against Naidu and 30 MLAs of the Telugu Desam Party under sections 353, 323, 324, 506, 504 and 123 of the Indian Penal Code.
