A notorious criminal, Sadashiv Shetty, was killed in a police encounter here today.
Shetty who was wanted in 16 serious crimes was shot dead at Varje near here this morning, city crime branch officials confirmed.
The criminal was believed to have been involved in an attack on a courier company office in the densely populated Ravivar Peth area last week in which one person was killed by the 'Angadia' gang which he headed, police sources said.
