The girl will now receive the required time and care and the necessary monetary help for her medication.

The Kolshewadi police on Friday submitted a report to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) regarding the 3-year-old girl who was raped by her father in Kalyan. Following this, the girl will now receive the required time and care and the necessary monetary help for her medication.
“The police submitted the report to the CWC on Friday requesting guidance regarding the protection and care of the girl. We will now assign an NGO for funding the girl and treating her, at a private hospital, if needed. Apart from a CWC caretaker, the Kolshewadi police have also assigned a female constable for the girl,” said Sumitra Ashtekar, CWC member, Thane.
According to the CWC, while the Sion hospital has agreed to provide a card for the CWC and the Childline Worker to visit the victim, CWC has asserted that the girl would be examined by their psychiatrist and counselled out of trauma by their counsellor.
“The hospital has assured that there are enough sponsors ready to help the victim. Right now, the focus is to give her the best treatment and help her physical and emotional wounds to heal,” said Sharad Barse from Aasra Childlibe Kalyan, who has been nominated by the CWC for coordination.
DNA had reported on Friday about how the Kolshewadi police had flouted the basic guidelines of the Juvenile Justice Act and not produced the victim to the CWC for almost a fortnight while it should have been done within 24 hours.
However, when contacted, the police inspector (crime) BG Roham and the investigating officer in the matter, Ravindra Deshmukh, assured DNA that they would complete the formalities soon.
