Industries minister Narayan Rane today said that the decision on providing a compensation package of Rs10 lakh per acre for the Jaitapur nuclear power project will be taken soon.

"The collector's report has already been received and I will talk to the chief minister Prithviraj Chavan next week," Rane said.

He ruled out increase in the amount of compensation. The package was already high as the current land rate is Rs46,000 per acre, Rane added.

Rane lamented that the implementation of SEZ projects in the state was slow.

"I will talk to the chief minister as to how the proposed SEZ bill can be brought up for discussion," he said.
