The citizen facilitation centre (CFC) at the district collector’s office has been witnessing angry crowds for the past few days following the delay in issuing of caste, domicile and non-creamy layer certificates.
With the last date for submission of applications for engineering drawing to a close on June 28, the centre witnessed last-minute applicants in large numbers.
Staff crunch and sudden load had delayed the process of issuance of certificates.
On Tuesday, Hadapsar MLA Mahadev Babar visited the district collector’s office asking him to look into the matter. “I have been receiving many complaints about the delay in issuing of non-creamy layer and caste certificates. I have asked district collector Vikas Deshmukh to talk with the director of technical education and address the problem,” he said.
According to sub-divisional officer Haveli and CFC incharge, Avinash Hathgal, the delay in issue of certificates is mainly due to incomplete applications. “Queries have been mainly raised on applications regarding caste certificates,” he said.
As per sources, around 500 such applications are pending for issue of certificates. Following last-minute rush at the CFC, the district collectorate has taken on extra staff to manage the increased workload.
