MUMBAI: Producer of 'Deshdrohi', a film on the plight of a north Indian migrant that has been banned in the state, on Tuesday met top Home Department officials to put forth his views on why the ban should be revoked.
Kamaal Khan, who also plays the protagonist in the controversial film, met Maharashtra Additional Chief Secretary Chitkala Zutshi and Home Secretary Anna Dani at Mantralaya here.
"I have been informed by the officials that they will give their directives on the issue tomorrow. I am ready to delete any scene found offending the sentiments," Khan said.
The meeting followed after the Bombay High Court on Monday asked the State Government to give the producer a
hearing.
The Mumbai Police, whose top officials saw the film, had suggested that screening of the film be suspended as it may worsen law and order situation in the backdrop of Raj Thackeray-led MNS' agitation against north Indians.
