The arrests come more than a month after the police busted a rave party at a Khalapur resort near Karjat and arrested six people, including a police inspector from the anti-narcotics cell.

On Tuesday, police sub-inspector Anand Bhoir got a tip-off that Afzal Ali Imam Sayyad, 27, and Shabina Hamid Sayyad, 19, were to meet a client near Sunrise hotel at Kashimira junction. The officials laid a trap and nabbed them, said Pradeep Mane, senior police inspector of the local crime branch.

During interrogation, they reportedly confessed that the cocaine was to be used at a rave party, but they did not know where it was going to be organised.

The police are verifying the information provided by the duo and probing into where and who they bought the drugs from.
While Afzal is a resident of Naya Nagar at Mira Road, Shabina lives in Punjabi Colony at Sion-Koliwada.
