The concept revolves around the theory of knowing your carbon footprints in a verifiable manner. The user, once aware of his/her carbon footprints, will have the power to choose the actions that will reduce environment impact.

The passport has a simple inbuilt calculator to help you measure carbon footprints every year. Once the person is aware of his/her carbon footprints per month, he/she can compare it with the standard values of emissions and check whether the intensity is low, medium or high. Depending on the intensity, the passport will suggest the user the kind of action he/she must undertake to reduce the impact.

“This is an opportunity towards building communities and bridging continents by living and spreading the need to reduce our carbon footprints,” said Pradeep Saxena, president, RCB. This project is also supported by the Eureka Forbes Institute of Environment.

Rudolf D’souza, institute’s trustee, said that the initiative’s target audience is the people who emit higher carbon footprints, who travel more and use higher amount of electricity.
