In another case of conmen posing as cops, a 62-year-old woman was duped of her gold ornaments valued at Rs20,000 at Mahatma Society in Kothrud on Saturday by three  unidentified men.

Wadalkar was on her customary morning walk when the men on a motorcycle stopped her and told her that chain snatchers were roaming in the area. Claiming that they were policemen, the trio asked Wadalkar to keep her ornaments in a bag, then snatched her bag and fled.Man held for duping IT firmThe Vishrambaug police on Saturday arrested Rajeev Ashok Ahuja (36) of Mumbai for allegedly duping an information technology (IT) company to the tune of Rs5.6 lakh under the pretext of outsourcing data entry work. Ahuja was earlier arrested in a similar case registered at the Kothrud police station. His accomplice, Satish Yashwant Kale, was arrested on October 12. Another  accomplice, Smita Manohar Mane, has applied for anticipatory bail in the sessions court. Police sub-inspector AS Hatkar is investigating the case.Neighbour held for extortionThe Cantonment police arrested Sohail Lakhani (25) for allegedly demanding Rs25,000 from his neighbour, Shiraj Rizavi (30) to take back a non-cognisible complaint lodged with the police. The police said the two families are at loggerheads over garbage strewn in front of their houses. Both had accused each other of deliberately throwing the garbage.
