Fat-shamed at designer store, Mumbai girl gets support online

Mona Joshi was asked to go to the gym when she asked where she could find clothes her size.

Asked to "Go to the gym" for not having the perfect figure, Mona Joshi, a Mumbai resident, and her friends took to social media to report an incident that took place at Kalki Fashions in Mumbai's Santacruz (West).

Joshi was shopping for a 'ghagra' for her friend's wedding. When she asked the salesman, if there was anything available in her size, he said "Of course not!"  Joshi then asked where women of her size could find clothes, the salesman, said, "Go to the gym".  An angry Joshi walked out of the store but her friend Shreshth Poddar, who had accompanied her, wrote a mail to the manager of the store. Friends of Joshi also talked about the incident  on Facebook.

The authorities at Kalki Fashion were compelled to take action against the salesperson and ensured that they would reach out to Joshi and apologise to her.

Make sure that the body shaming sales chap you've just fired doesn't get hired by any other fashion store ever. What he did is simply reprehensible!!
