BJP working president JP Nadda has devised a 3 'P' formula for leaders aspiring for candidature in the ensuing Maharashtra assembly election which includes Party loyalty, Performance and Patience. This is in addition to the elective merit. He exhorted party members to work at the grass roots level and not work for self-promotion.
Nadda, who has been holding region-wise meetings of the MPs, legislators, district presidents and aspirants, asked them to step up outreach to common man and convince them how BJP is committed to take the development of Maharashtra and India to a new high under the able leadership. His message was to make all efforts to increase voting margin as everyone should expect victory by merit or with distinction and not by grace marks.
Nadda said BJP will strike a seat sharing deal with Shiv Sena to win maximum assembly seats in Maharashtra. "Don't think about alliance issue as it is being handled by PM Modi and party president Amit Shah. Just devote on fighting the assembly poll together. BJP workers will work wholeheartedly not only for the victory of its nominee but also of Shiv Sena candidate,'' Nadda told the party leaders.
Nadda's statement on BJP's alliance with Shiv Sena for assembly election is quite crucial as both are currently engaged in hard bargain. BJP has already hinted that it was not in favour of accepting Shiv Sena's 144:144 seat sharing formula considering its increased strength across the state. Further, BJP is believed to have told Shiv Sena that it will not agree to sharing of Chief Minister's post for two and half years each between the two. Both the parties have launched preparations in all 288 seats. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray are quite optimistic about the alliance although they are not divulging details with regard number of seats which will be shared between the two.
Meanwhile, Nadda has told the party members not to worry about the BJP's move to give entry to defectors from Congress and NCP saying that it has been done to spread party's wings. He made it clear that it won't anyway impact their prospects in the party.
He however, said that those joining BJP will have to abide by the party ideology and principles. ''Any deviation from such norms will not be tolerated,'' he noted.
