The special court of Usha Thakare on Tuesday gave another two weeks (till January 11) to the state to appoint a special public prosecutor in the German Bakery blast case.

The special court of Usha Thakare on Tuesday gave another two weeks (till January 11) to the state to appoint a special public prosecutor in the German Bakery blast case.

Additional public prosecutor, Vijay Pharagde, on behalf of the state government, moved an application before the court seeking two weeks’ time for the appointment.

At the previous hearing, the court had directed the Pune Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) to appoint a special public prosecutor (SPP) in the case within two weeks.

The prime suspect in the case, Mirza Himayat Inayat Baig (30), was produced before the court on Tuesday.

The prosecution, in its plea, stated that an application
regarding appointment of a special public prosecutor has been made to the state government and is under consideration and an order in this regard is likely to be passed.
