Adil Shaikh, a resident of Ghatkopar working at a garment factory in Parel survived the tragic incident as he didn't board his usual train. Shaikh says he reached the workshop 10 minutes early on Friday, and with 20 minutes he heard about the incident in which two of his friends died.
Shaikh, who travels from Mumbra said, "We would usually co-ordinate and board in the same fast train but on Friday I reached the station early so I boarded a slow train and reached my office early. I heard about the stampede at the station and that several people died. It was shocking to hear about my two friends who died in the stampede."
