Bodies of airplane crash victims were handed over to their family members and relatives, at around 3 pm on Friday afternoon. While the bodies were identified by the family members either by looking at foreign objects like gold chains, earrings, or pendants; a local resident of Kalwa, Govind Dubey (33) was identified by the shape of his nose, by his younger brother.

Bodies of captain Pradeep Rajput and engineer Manish Pandey were taken to Somaiya crematorium at Ghatkopar, co-pilot Maria Kathuria’s body was taken to Govandi and engineer Surabhi Gupta’s body was sent to Delhi after the completing postmortem.

Dubey’s body was identified by looking at his nose. Rajput’s body was identified with the help of a gold chain, bangle, and a broken teeth, Pandey was identified by looking at his face. Maria was identified by a finger ring, Surabhi was identified from the platinum earring she was wearing. After identification, the family members denied taking DNA tests.

Brothers of the Kalwa resident, Govind, along with other relatives and neighbours staged a protest outside the postmortem centre and had earlier denied to take his body unless they could meet a government representative .
