The Pune crime branch on Thursday arrested a historysheeter Uttam alias Satish Kashinath More of Panshet in connection with illegal possession of firearm.
More was earlier arrested by the Mumbai police for his alleged involvement in the attempted murder of film producer Rakesh Roshan.
According to the police, More is member of the KK Ali gang in Mumbai and have several offences registered against him.
Around five months ago, More had purchased a countrymade revolver worth Rs25,000 from one Naseem Shaikh of Uttar Pradesh. After being produced before the court of judicial magistrate first class Umeshchandra More, the suspect was remanded in three days’ police custody till February 6.
Assistant public prosecutor Madhav Paul told the court that the suspect is not cooperating with the police in the investigation. “The police need to find out what is the motive of possessing the
illegal firearm,” he said.
