The Government Railway Police (GRP) from Vasai railway station has released the sketch of a man, who pushed a 19-year-old girl out of a moving train between Virar and Nallasopara after she resisted in handing him money.   The GRP is yet to nab the accused and claimed that the accused is the first time offender.

On September 8, Komal Chavan, who works at a lottery store in Virar and was going home to Samel Pada in Nallasopara, after completing her shift at 9.30pm. She had boarded the 9.49 Virar to Churchgate local from platform no 2, and a man in his 30s boarded the compartment just as the train began to move. He demanded money forcefully from Chavan, who refused to part with it. The accused then pulled her by her hair and pushed out of the compartment door. Chavan suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

Rajendra Bhosale, Police Inspector, Vasai GRP, said, "We have released the sketch of the offender and have formed various teams and are trying to identify the accused."

"It seems that the accused is a first time offender and we will soon nab him. We have few leads in the case and we are investigating further. If anybody have identified the accused, we request them to inform the GRP," said Bhosale.
