A day after Sachin performed the house warming ceremony, he was embroiled in the controversy of the occupation certificate of the house. Khan spoke to BMC commissioner on Thursday and requested him to put a full stop on the issue.  “It is unfortunate that Sachin is being asked to pay the penalty for non-compliance of occupation certificate. His contribution to the country is impeccable and the civic body should consider this,” said Khan. “I have requested Subodh Kumar to reconsider the penalty and issue the occupation certificate to him.”

A Congress minister said that the Shiv Sena-controlled civic body was blowing the issue out of proportion. “Its clear that since the Sena are against the master blaster, they are trying to harass him. Otherwise, why is only Sachin being questioned about the OC?” he asked.
