Dusty weather has been experienced in the state with the major regions affected being Mumbai, Konkan, Raigad and parts of North Maharashtra such as Nashik and Nagar districts. It has also been seen in western parts of Pune district.
Pune-Mumbai highway traffic has been partially affected due to low visibility.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) says it is due to a major dust storm which was experienced in Gulf region. The dust storm crossed the Arabian sea and its remnants affected some parts of Maharashtra.
As per weather prediction, the situation may last for couple of days.
Though this is not the first time the state has experienced dust storm, It is an occasional occurrence.
