She was addressing students on Friday at a lecture on ‘We dare’, organised by Symbiosis international university. “Anna has a higher purpose to get the country rid of corruption and hence he dared. Similarly, I wanted to be a part of the system to serve my country,” she added.

According to her, one should strive hard to excel to achieve the higher purpose of life. “Try and optimally use time, respect the values in life that we have learnt through generations, and learn to reject the status quo,,” she told the students.

She cited examples from the India Against Corruption movement and her own life on how to dare in life. Bedi appealed to the students to not just know, but also learn to do what they know. “This is the key to bringing change in the state of affairs of the country,” she said.

Later, Bedi told reporters she supported Hazare’s demand seeking a written apology from Congress spokesperson, Manish Tewari, for making baseless allegations against him.

She appealed to people to read the contents of the Lokpal Bill of the Union government and the Jan Lokpal Bill prepared by Team Anna. “The reading and understanding of the two Bills is essential before one take sides,” she added.
