HC tells DGP to take action in Yunus case

The Bombay High Court directed Director General of Police PS Pasricha to take appropriate action on the proposed chargesheet submitted by the state CID.

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court on Friday directed Director General of Police PS Pasricha to take appropriate action on the proposed chargesheet submitted by the state CID against police officers involved in alleged custodial death of Khwaja Yunus within four weeks.
 
Khwaja Yunus was arrested by the Mumbai police Crime Branch for his alleged involvement in the 2002 Ghatkopar bomb blasts case. 
 
In January 2003, police claimed he fled from police custody while relatives alleged he died due to police torture.
