With just a day to go for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) board examination, Mumbai divisional board on Tuesday released its helpline numbers to assist distressed students and solve their queries.
This year, the number of HSC students appearing for the state board examination is 3,20,077 whereas the number of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) students appearing the board examination is more compared to the HSC students — a total of 3,74,799.
The number of centres where HSC board examinations will be conducted are 518 while the number of squads remain almost the same as compared to the last year, comprising education officers and inspectors.
Talking about the helpline numbers, SY Chandekar, secretary of Mumbai Divisional Board, said: "Like every year, we will be following the instructions of state education department. We have also made a list of our counsellors ready to help distressed students on our helpline number. We have also instructed our chief exam conductors and heads at the exam centres to take a call in crisis like situation for any student at the last moment.
However, they will have to inform the board for permission."
Not only the Mumbai divisional board, but Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Higher Secondary Education, Pune have also released some helpline numbers for the students on which the counsellors will address for students from across the state.
