The special counselling cell set up by the Maharashtra state board of secondary and higher secondary education (MSBSHSE) received no phone calls from students in distress on day one of the results on Friday.
The higher secondary certificate (HSC) standard XII results were declared online on Friday noon.
VP Jade, a Sir Parshurambhau (SP) College psychology professor and one of the two counsellors appointed by the board, told DNA on Friday evening that the two-person cell did not receive any phone calls.
“The students would have checked the results online today. We expect the calls tomorrow (Saturday),” he said.
The psychology professor at St Mira’s College for Girls, Revati Pandhare said, “Students who perform badly tend to develop suicidal tendencies or go into depression. This cell has been set up to counsel them and give solutions for their future studies,” she said.
According to Pandhare, the state board had set up this counselling centre last year and the response was very good.
