The Mumbai university has, in the middle of the ongoing examinations, decided to shift students from their existing exam centres. The students appearing from DG Ruparel College in Matunga and Elphinstone College in Fort will be shifted to new centres from April 15 due to election activities that will be undertaken at the two centres.
The TYBSc students appearing from Ruparel college will have to move to Kirti college in Dadar and the TYBA students are being shifted to MD College in Parel. The BA, BCom and MA students who are appearing from Elphinstone College will now take the exam from Wilson College near Girgaum Chowpatty.
The university had informed the two colleges a few days back, indicating that they might have to accommodate more students. "We were informed a few days back and have made the required arrangements.
However, smaller colleges might have not been able to make the change. We are making efforts to ensure that students do not suffer due to the last-minute change," said Vishnu Magre, principal, Kirti college.
However, principals fear that the change might affect students. "Changing centre in the middle of exams will be inconvenient to both students and colleges. While there may be confusion among students on from where they will have to appear for the exam, the new centres might have trouble accommodating extra students," said a college principal.
The university in a circular on Wednesday said the hall ticket and exam time will remain the same.
