Kanhaiyalal Gidwani does not hold any position in Maharashtra Congress: Manikrao Thakre

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Manikrao Thakre today said that Kanhaiyalal Gidwani, one of the accused against whom CBI has filed FIR in the Adarsh Housing scam, does not hold any official position in the state unit.

"He (Gidwani) along with some others were made spokespersons in 2009. But, it has been conveyed to them long ago that the arrangement was only for election period," Thakre said when asked if the party was planning any action against Gidwani for his involvement in the case.

Gidwani, a former Shiv Sena MLC, switched sides to the Congress in 2005.
