Pakistani terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Kasab will be observing fast during the holy month of Ramzan and wants someone in jail to inform him of the time he can break the fast every day.

Kasab’s lawyer Abbas Kazmi submitted a Ramzan timetable with sunrise and sunset timings to the court staff.

“He does not have a watch. He will need someone to tell him when to break roza,” said Kazmi. The holy month of Ramzan is likely to begin by the end of this month.

Kasab is in Arthur Road prison and for security reasons as per jail manual there is nothing in his cell except his books and the Quran. The court will decide on the plea later.

Kazmi also handed over four books to Kasab. The four books are — Kaleesa aur Aag (The holy cross and fire), Qaisar aur Kisra (Caesar and Kisra), Qafla-i-hijaz (Caravan of Hijaz) and Dastane Mardane Hur (the tale of free men).

“I ordered these at the request of Kasab from a Delhi publication. Kasab had read about these titles form other books I gave him. He made a list of eight. These are the last four books,” said Kazmi.

The first three books are written by Pakistani writer Naseem Hijazi who wrote historical novels.
