Khalapur rave party: Hotel COO arrested

Aparajit Mittal, who organised the rave party from which 290 people were detained last week, was arrested under Section 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Act.

The Khalapur Police on Thursday night arrested Aparajit Mittal, chief operating officer, Hotel Mount View, from his Chembur, Mumbai home.
 
The police said Mittal, a good friend of Snehajeet Car alias Biltu, of Beyond Logic who organised the rave party from which 290 people were detained last week, was arrested under Section 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Act.
 
Mittal, who is a partner of the hotel, was involved in organising the party.
 
“He knew everything about the party and was even aware about the drugs in the party,” said S Patil, inspector, Khalapur police station. “Since he was a friend of Biltu, the owner of organsing company, Beyond Logic, he allowed him to conduct the party. We arrested him on Thursday night from his residence in Chembur and the further investigations are on.”
 
Mittal was produced at the Khalapur court on Friday and has been remanded to police custody till July 5.
 
Till now, the police have arrested six accused involved in the rave party case while one is reported to be absconding.
 
Anil Jadhav, inspector, narcotics department, Worli Unit, Sunil Ashok Ghule, Snehajeet Car alias Biltu, Kushant Subhash Kumar and Rahul Khanna are the accused who were arrested, while Vikas alias Vicky Naresh Shah is still absconding.
 
Among the arrested, Ghule from Pune is a known supplier of drugs and close associate of Jadhav while Biltu and Kumar are from the party organising team and Khanna is the manager of the hotel. Shah, who is still absconding, is a partner of Biltu from Beyond Logic Company.
 
Acting on a tip-off, the Khalapur police had raided Hotel Mount View in Khalapur on Sunday night wherein they detained around 290 people who were let off after conducting a medical test over them.
 
Amongst the 290 youngsters who were detained at the rave party, 231 were boys while 59 were girls.
 
The youngsters belonged to Mumbai and Pune, confirmed Patil.
 
“Blood and urine samples of all the youngsters have been sent for medical test and further action against them will be taken once the report comes,” Patil added.
 
The police said Jadhav, along with Ghule, was found consuming alcohol in Shah’s room where all the drugs were kept, at the time of the raid.
 
Rs 3,08,600 cash was recovered from the spot while drugs worth Rs 31,700 were seized. Property worth Rs 3,40,300, including cash and drugs, were seized from the spot. Among the seized drugs, MDMA tablets, MDMA liquid, charas, ganja, cocaine and suspicious sugar cubes were found.
 
The five accused who were arrested on Monday were remanded to police custody and will be produced before Khalapur court on Saturday.
