Two months after Jasmine and Devdas Naik’s newborn son was kidnapped from Wadia Maternity Hospital in Parel, Devdas will go on a fast unto death protest from Thursday at the hospital. The couple had written a letter informing all authorities about the protest a month ago.
“It will be three months on December 23 since we lost our son. The police and administration have failed to find him. My wife is still in the hospital waiting for him to return,” said Devdas, who will protest along with a social worker.
The police, however, have not allowed them to protest inside the hospital premises. Jasmine’s brother Abhishek Mapankar said, “The police have not allowed us to fast inside the premises. We are determined and we will find a way.”
The family had earlier announced that they would give Rs5 lakh to anyone who found the child. They had also put up his pictures across the city.
