A labourer was today beaten to death allegedly by his friend after he failed to return the Rs600 borrowed from him here, police said.
The incident occurred this afternoon in suburban Malvani when the victim Mohammad Irshad Sheikh (23) as well as the accused entered into a fight after the former refused to return the Rs 600 borrowed by him, they said.
Sheikh (23) as well as the accused were both friends and had come to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh in search of jobs. Both were working as labourers in Malvani, police said.
The accused has been arrested following the incident, they said adding that his identity is yet to be ascertained.
