Lodha Group violating realty norms: Cong MLAs

Four Congress legislators from South Mumbai have accused realty developer Lodha Group of violating several development control regulations in three of its projects in South Mumbai — World One, The Park and New Cuffe Parade.

The Lodha Group, which has Bharatiya Janata Party’s Malabar Hill legislator, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, as chairman of the group, has refuted the allegation.

The Congress legislators – Bhai Jagtap, Amin Patel, Annie Shekhar and Madhu Chavan – on Thursday submitted a memorandum  to chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, demanding that a high-level probe be carried out and stop-work notices be issued to Lodha Group, pending inquiry into their allegations.

A spokesperson of Lodha Group said the charges are “politically motivated and lack substance”. The spokesperson said: “Lodha Group has a stellar reputation of being an upright organisation which follows all developmental norms. We have all permissions in place for our projects.”
