BJP has firmed up a comprehensive Lok Sabha election campaign strategy for Maharashtra, comprising rallies and joint meetings by the BJP and Shiv Sena leaders, house-to-house contact, padayatras and the high-decibel media blitzkrieg.

The party is leaving no stone unturned in the all-important state of Maharashtra, which with 48 seats is the most crucial state after Uttar Pradesh with 80 seats, to enable the party to achieve it's 300 plus target at the Centre.

As per the seat sharing arrangement, BJP will contest 25 seats and its ally Shiv Sena will contest 23 seats. BJP president Amit Shah has set an ambitious target of winning 43 seats in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address at least five rallies, the first of which will be slated for this week or early next week in the Vidarbha region.

BJP will organise at least 100 rallies, mobilising 8,000 to 10,000 people in 25 constituencies. Additionally, about 25 bigger rallies are being planned with a gathering up to two lakh people.

Party legislator and spokesman, Atul Bhatkhalkar told DNA, "There has been a request from candidates and senior leaders for an address by PM Modi. There are requests for rallies by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Smriti Irani, Bihar deputy CM Sushil Modi and many more. As per the availability of these leaders, meetings will be organised."

He informed that at the national level, the party launched a poll campaign on March 24 through 500 rallies, including 15 in Maharashtra. Gujarat deputy CM Nitin Patel was the chief speaker in the state.

Bhatkhalkar informed that the party will simultaneously launch an advertising campaign with the tag line 'Phir Ek Bar Modi Sarkar', while projecting the achievements of the NDA government vis-a-vis UPA. 

"Various central government flagship schemes such as Ujala, Ujwala, Kisan Samman Yojana, Ayushman Bharat will be highlighted in the publicity campaign. Furthermore, the government's aim to achieve a $5-trillion economy by 2025 will be prominently covered," he said.

The party will also target the Congress on its minimum income guarantee scheme by terming it a bluff.
