Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Wednesday that after the Other Backward Castes (OBC) Commission submits its report to the state government on the Maratha reservation issue, it would take appropriate action on it within 15 days.

Speaking to media persons at Akola after his visit to drought-hit areas in the district, Fadnavis said that once the OBC Commission submits its report to the government, it will complete all the required constitutional procedures within 15 days. 

He added that the state government has already declared that it would expedite the Maratha reservation issue by November end. Accordingly, Fadnavis added, “we would receive the OBC Commission report by Thursday and would process it within the next 15 days and sort out the issue”. 

Fadnavis ridiculed the claims of a media channels that stated they have already received the details and recommendations of the OBC Commission report. He said that unless the commission submits its report to the government, there is no possibility that any information from it would be made public.
