Despite suffering from a rare genetic bone disorder called osteogenesis, Parikshit Shah, a student of VK High School & Junior College, Panvel, secured 75.17% in the Commerce stream in the HSC board results declared on May 27. The teenager has been in limelight purely for his grit and determination to pursue studies regardless of his limitation.
A living example for students who prefer to give up at the slightest pretext, Parikshit has earned his laurels while being restricted to his bed. Blessed with a vivacious personality, his recent success in his HSC exam has been acknowledged with that same cheery spirit.
“I am ecstatic and truly happy to have passed HSC with such a percentage. Prior to the exams, I was suffering from pneumonia. However, I managed to write the exams well and my efforts seem to have paid off,” said Parikshit.
During the exam, his college made special arrangements by providing Parikshit a bed so that he could lie down and write his papers. Just like any other student, Parikshit too dislikes theoretical subjects and names Accounts as his favourite subject.
He has now set his sights on clearing the CA, CPT examinations. “I am good with numbers. I have taken admission for the CPT examination set to held in December. Now that I know my results, I am looking forward to getting admission into a degree college and becoming a graduate. It’s an exciting phase of my life and I am keen to embrace it wholeheartedly,” he said.
Parikshit has recently taken a liking to astrology and claims to have developed a passion for its study. “I have finished studying half of all astrology books. I can predict and work on birth charts. I don’t consider my health an impediment that should prevent me from doing what I like. I am regular with my appointments with the doctor and that should take care of my health,” he said.m
