30 lakh people will run in a marathon that’ll celebrate the spirit of the state

The spirit of Mumbai has been time and again talked about, but it is the spirit of Maharashtra which is making news now. For this very spirit of our state will be celebrated in a marathon in which over 30 lakh people are going to participate from 262 cities and towns from across the state.

Titled the Run against Terror, this marathon will be spread across Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Mahaall and the Konkan region. The fund raised by this event (sponsored by Maharashtra Olympic Association) will be utilised to fight terror. It will take place on December 17, organised by the Maha Marathon Organising Committee. l.

“Maharashtra has been bombarded with calamities one after the other. But the masses did not bow down to the tragedies. The government has done its part, it is now our chance to show our gratitude,” said Satish Pradhan, president of the Maha Marathon Organising Committee.

Hence, the Maha Marathon which was being organised for the past 17 years in Thane was extended to the whole of Maharashtra. “I was pleased to see people from different communities helping each other during the blasts. We should appreciate such selfless acts by taking part in the marathon. It is a unique way of bringing together people from diverse parts of the state,” said RR Patil, deputy CM.
