According to police, the complainant's father was arrested in a criminal offence and was remanded to judicial custody, after which he was lodged in Taloja jail.

"On Wednesday, the complainant approached us saying the jail guards have demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for not harassing his father inside the jail and to ensure a comfortable stay for him. The accused had already taken a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant and they were caught when they had accepted the remaining amount," said an ACB officer.
