A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly molesting the wife of a tenant in Sewri. The incident took place around 1pm on May 29.
“The accused, identified as Mohammed Umar Sheikh, runs a readymade garment business,” a police officer from the Sewri police station said, adding that Sheikh was released on bail by the Bhoiwada metropolitan magistrate’s court on Monday.
The officer said Sheikh had given his house at Sewri on rent to the couple about a month ago. On Saturday, he had gone to meet the woman’s husband. When Sheikh found the woman alone at home, he pounced on her and molested her.
