The Versova police, on Tuesday, arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly sending lewd messages to model and actor Sherlyn Chopra.
Flynn Remedios, a freelance journalist and resident of Andheri (east), had met Chopra earlier this year for an interview and had offered to become her public relations officer.
“After joining, Remedios asked for an advance in his salary. He also forged Chopra’s signature to get two mobile SIM cards on her name,” said senior inspector Dilip Mane, Versova police station.
“A few days later, Chopra received bills for two unknown numbers at her Lokhandwala residence. When she questioned Remedios, he confessed to forging her signature.”
The model fired him on March 16, after which Remedios started sending her threatening and lewd messages. “He also forcibly tried to enter her house. Citing danger from him, Chopra lodged a complaint with Versova police station on Monday night,” said Mane.
Remedios has been booked for cheating by impersonation, trespassing, forgery and insulting the modesty of a woman. He has been remanded in police custody till April 28.
He was earlier arrested by Oshiwara police on February 9, 2007, for allegedly harassing model Nandini Jumani in a similar manner.
Chopra believes Remedios has a split personality. “After I sacked him, he asked me to give him one more chance,” says Chopra. “But when I refused, he became vindictive. At times, he used to be a good person, but at times he was simply terrorising,” said Chopra.
“He enjoys torturing people,” she said.
