Marathi film story writer Deulgaonkar dead

Noted Marathi screen-play writer and V. Shantaram award winner Annasaheb Deulgaonkar died on Tuesday. He was 87 years old.

NAGPUR: Noted Marathi screen-play writer and V. Shantaram award winner Annasaheb Deulgaonkar died here on Tuesday. He was 87 years old.

The writer of several film stories that launched the careers of many leading Marathi actors, Deulgaonkar had shifted to Nagpur from Pune after his wife's death nine years ago and was living with his daughter Priti Wadnerkar.

Prominent films for which Deulgaonkar wrote the screen-plays include "Maherchi Sadi", "Dhum Dhadaka", "De Danadan", "Lek Chalali Sasarla" and "Khatyal Sasu, Nathal Soon" starring Alka Kubal, Savita Prabhune, Mohan Joshi and Lakshmikant Berde.
