“As a precautionary measure, MGL will activate its safety plan whereby the company employees and staff will be patrolling the city across areas to prevent any untoward incidences during Diwali. The vigil during the festival will be increased for the safety of citizens, especially children who are unaware of MGL’s gas pipelines, service regulators and district regulators. Besides, the regular patrolling by patrol men on motorbikes around the city, senior MGL officials will be stationed in control rooms during the festival. This year too, MGL’s team will be on duty round the clock,” says a written statement issued by MGL.

Additionally, to create awareness among the general public about not lighting the fire crackers near MGL’s gas pipelines and service regulators, special messages are being developed and will be released through advertisements in radio and television for a safer Diwali.

“The task is not simple for MGL. But it surely can be made a little easier if the people of Mumbai can join in and support the social cause initiated by the company. Therefore, MGL would like to appeal to the citizens of Mumbai to participate in ensuring a safe Diwali,” says the statement.

“In case of any emergencies regarding MGL Gas pipelines & other gas installations, please contact the MGL emergency service on 1800 22 99 44 or 022 2401 2400,” concludes the statement.
